ANDY SPARROW'S JOURNAL
2002 - 2003
THIS PAGE IS
LIKE MY DIARY, EXCEPT LESS EXPLICIT.
IT'S A BLOG IN
ITS BACK-TO-FRONT, UPSIDE-DOWN STRUCTURE:
(NEWEST AT THE TOP) WHICH PLEASES MY LEFT-HANDED
SENSIBILITIES

DECEMBER 2003
Just posted a NEW Girls section.
Check it out!
Have you listened to my mix of Metallica
V Chordettes?
It's on the page with my Christmas card to you.
It's quite amusing, if not terribly professional.
NOVEMBER 2003
Been on holiday in Cornwall. Went for my Dad's funeral, then
decided to stay until it rained. Ended up down there for nearly two
weeks.
Is that a record?
SEPTEMBER 2003
I've closed the Mail-order area for now. Not sure about the
Transfer process. I may go back to silk-screening. What do you think?
AUGUST 2003
Wow, has it been that long? Been drawing alot of Storyboards
recently so I haven't had a chance to work on the Site, but I didn't
realize it had been two months. I have a few days off so I'm gonna
sort out a few things and draw another episode of 'Doppelgangers'
I promise! Yeah right!

JUNE 2003
When I was moving into my new PC, I somehow lost a lot of my
address book including a lot of yours. If you haven't received a newsletter
from me in the last few months, (or would like to start) get yourself
back in the book by sending me a blank (or not) email by
clicking
here. I
promise not to share it with anyone.
New episode of 'Doppelgangers' is up. Check it out.
MAY 2003
Howzit? I've bought myself a Toshiba Tablet PC which is incredible.
I can actually draw on the screen and the quality of the stroke and
pressure sensitivity is amazing. If you're
an artist don't buy the Compaq as it isn't pressure sensitive.
APRIL 2003
I've
been in Cornwall, visiting my Dad and old friends. Docky is a painter
who lives near Land's End. I've created a Gallery
for him to show his recent work. Check them out. I've also started
a Gallery of another of my artist heroes, Alex
Nino, who doesn't have much of a web presence.
MARCH 2003
I've just put up the next episode of 'DOPPELGANGERS'
Check it out!
If you're thinking of buying me a present here's the answer:
Using a Bimota Tesi chassis, these are hand-made by Italian crafstmen
when on their lunch break from Manolo Blahnik. Did you read the article
in Streetfighters magazine a couple of months ago? Check it out here.
FEBRUARY 2003
I don't know if the rest of Britain is over-run with Starbucks
coffee shops, but a lot of people in London complain about them. Personally
I think they're fine. I may never give them a penny of my business
but on the other hand, if I ever need to use the loo whilst out and
about, or if I ever need a free newspaper or a place to hang
for a while this is the place.
The
staff are never the same twice and are so poorly paid, they couldn't
give a shit if you sit there all day. So Starbucks gets five stars
from me!
Check out this CAD version of Hoover that Keith Harraway sent me.
Isn't it cool? Click on it for a larger
version. What does CAD stand for?
JANUARY 2003
Happy New Ear!
What did you get for Christmas? I got socks.
My resolutions include an attempt to get fit;
Physically and mentally.
Also I want to get out more and draw more,
so I don't know if it's gonna work.
Maybe I'll just have to sleep less...

If you like the Viper Bike from Dodge, you might like the new comic
book I'm working on called the
JetMetal.
We are in talking with various international motorcycling magazines
at the moment. It will be a page per month and will focus on Ava,
a beautiful mechanic, who comes up with new ideas for bike styling
and design. So it's got sexy girls and sexy bikes! What more could
you want?
[This has just been added to my blog in September 2008, as I noticed
I'm still getting a lot of searches through Google images]
DECEMBER 2002
Have you collected your Christmas
card from me to you yet? It's an animated Gif, so you'll have
to wait a moment while it finishes loading. But it's worth it!
Still time to buy a T-shirt, Trash-mag or Video as a Christmas prezzie!
Last orders will be around the 10th, so HURRY UP!
I've been re-doing the Bloodrunners
episodes this month so they are now in more manageable parts, but
also much higher rez, so virtually all the tiny stuff in the backgrounds
can be read. Check 'em out.
I'm currently obsessed with my rankings
on the 'Top 100 comic book sites' list. 'Bloodrunners.com' is romping
up the chart and is now in the top 100, but 'Ink' is languishing behind.

If you feel inclined you can help & vote for both just by clicking
on the links on the Contents page and the one on 'INK's too.
(The site has folded)
The vote counts even if you don't wait for the linked page to load
up (as it's got alot of graphics on it)
Not sure what'll happen when we get to number one, but I imagine that
I'll have that Bimota, my life will be perfect and I'll live forever!
Thanks.
NOVEMBER 2002
I've just published the first episode
of Doppelgangers. This is
my new Comic book. I shall try to do an episode every month so check
back soon.
Check out FaxYourMP.com It is the easiest way of communicating with
your MP and if enough of us do it, we can actually have an effect.
OCTOBER 2002
I've found my server hosts a Chat program.
The best thing about them is that they use 'Comic Chat', a way of
chatting which makes you a character in a Comic strip. If it's a success,
I will draw my own characters and backgrounds to make it more 'me'.
Didn't work out, taken down the link.
Just got myself a CD burner and finally worked out how to use it so
that the CDs actually play in normal machines! Am I an
idiot? or does nothing come with proper instructions?
Don't answer that!
SEPTEMBER 2002 NEW FRONT PAGE LAYOUT!
Been
fooling around with an animation program and come up with this little
meem I want to pass on. I'll be very pleased if I see little kids
singing this at some teenager who thinks he's cool. Sorry if this
offends any of my smoking friends, but I smoked for years against
my will, so it's got to be easier if you never start! If you want
this for your site, the code's on
THIS
page, along with the code for the animated whoosh logo, gracing
the front page at the moment.
AUGUST 2002
I've just bought
www.andy-sparrow.com and had it redirected
towards my Storyboard website. This is a vain [very] attempt to knock
that other Andy Sparrow off the top of some Search Engine listings.
How could there be another Andy Sparrow? When I've introduced myself
for the first time, I've had bikers ask me: 'Are you THE Andy Sparrow?'
and I always replied yes. But now???
Sorry for sending you that Junk-mail Microsoft thing. I was intrigued
by it,
but judging from your replies you received it two years before I did.
I was impressed by the theory behind it though:
That it could spread fast and multiply if it caught people's imagination.
Not like that one, offering money; But an IDEA that one could believe
in.
So: Click here for my latest IDEA that I think we should spread. (Taken
it down as things are now heading in that direction, amazingly)
I need some help with a wicked idea I’ve
had. If you, or someone you know, have any knowledge concerning lenses
and prisms please contact me, using the
Feedback page. Thanks
JUNE 2002
I've found the printing equipment
and am selling T-shirts again. Check out the Mail-order Section
for the range: All the old classics to start with. More coming
soon.
MAY 2002
Check out the
New
Bike Designs;section
with tons of new doodles and artwork, plus the drawing of Amsterdam
with the Animated Reflections;
It's just like being there! Steve showed me how to make
the picture rock like you're on a boat! I tried it, but I decided
against it when I threw up on the keyboard!
I've just posted my first ever strip. It's called
Watching
the Monitor and was inspired by my hero Jean Gireau
aka Moebius. Find a link to his work on my links page. Plus some
Wallpaper/Backgrounds
for you to download.
APRIL
2002
Yo! How are you? Me good;
thought I'd be having a short break after finishing I.N.K, but it
never happens how you want it to, does it? Bought a new lap-top to
drag myself into the 21st Century and have had endless troubles setting
it up. But now all is well, even if I have no hair left.
MARCH 2002
I have finally finished
I.N.K
and it was a mixture of relief and sadness, as I have spent so many
years immersed in her world. It's a bit like losing a good friend.
But I'm happy to move on. I've got a cracker lined up for you: My
partner is typing it up as we speak.
FEBRUARY 2002
I.N.K Episode 17 posted 19th
Feb
I am determined to finish this story in March . Only three more episodes
to go!
I have a thought I would like to share
with you. It's called:
PERSONALLY, I BLAME THE PLANTS!
It'll take you five minutes to
read.
I.N.K Episode
16 up now! Is this a record?
JANUARY 2002
Walking to my local shop today, I was overtaken by a teen-age
boy who spat on the pavement. I entered the shop without a second
thought, but was shocked to see (thru the window) a man approach the
spittle and rub a cotton-bud in it, which he then placed in a plastic
bag, as he returned to his non-descript, white van. On returning home,
I watched the van from my window and saw the same thing happen with
another three kid's saliva. I could make out another person in the
van, who was taking pictures of these kids. What could be the reason
behind this?

HAPPY NEW EAR! 2002
What did you get for Christmas? I got socks! Plus a fantastic toy
which I can draw on (digitally) and take pix with and email from and
talk to and surf thru and, and , and . . . Anyway, I shall be experimenting
with it and shall post anything I like once I get the hang of it. Check
out the Gallery for some basic
digital art soon.
My New Ear's Resolution 'More Art - Less fart' as in less farting
around. Whenever I finish a job it takes me a week or more to get
back to I.N.K, and then just as I'm into the swing of it, another
job comes along and I'm all regretful that I didn't get on with
it when I had the chance. So I'm all fired up and raring to go and
if there isn't Episode 14 of
I.N.K
attached to this link
by tomorrow you can come round and shoot me!
